Horse for Squarespace
advertising

Concept art and birth of a four-meter horse in ten days. A very interesting experience and I will tell you in detail how everything was planned and done.
Here are some instructions that we received from the director and product designer
I set to work, compiling introductions and references, accepting edits along the way. You can sculpt in 3D packages, but if there is an opportunity in the material, then it’s always cooler.

For those who will be bored looking at a lot of photos and reading, here is the advertising video for which the horse was
 designed and made)
However, mobile materials have their downsides. Having finished sculpting the horse, we took photogrammetry; at that time we only knew how to do this with a photo camera and using special non-mobile applications.
And it was very difficult to achieve good quality.
Not being satisfied with the result obtained, we turned to our friends in the office where this is done professionally. Due to their heavy load and our unexpected need, it was necessary to leave immediately, and I collected the sculpture in a plastic container, covered it with bubble rap and other things, in fact, the sculpture was ready to be sent to the Saatchi gallery)
having put everything in the car, I went to be scanned.
It was hot in the cabin, and while the air conditioner stabilized the temperature in the cabin, our horse sat down a little.
While I carried him in the heat to the office of our friends, he sat down a little more...
Thus, a couple of hours in Z-brush could not be avoided. ))
Then there was a busy week, after the scan and detailing of the sculpture in z-brush, we cut the model on a layer and prepared it for the CNC machine. On four machines in a day, we milled the details of our horse from foam plastic.
We made him a welded skeleton, reinforced, glued, added anatomy and all kinds of style tricks.
Then a million edits)
And the finishing decoration under patinated bronze.

SFX prepared a pneumatic platform, a platform that lifted our horse several meters above the ground,
so that the production post had something to hold on to)
Well, this way we got a cool horse, and then the guys made a cool movie)
The location is chosen, of course, it's also top!
Thanks to our team for sharing this blast with me and helping me create cool art!
